Artificial Intelligence Committee
Guiding the responsible, secure and strategic adoption of artificial intelligence across research, scientific services and institutional processes at ICMAB.
Responsible AI for scientific excellence
The Artificial Intelligence Committee guides the progressive, secure and efficient adoption of AI tools at ICMAB. Its mission is to identify strategic opportunities, promote responsible use, support staff training and foster pilot projects that can improve research, data analysis and institutional workflows.
The Committee provides a transversal forum connecting research groups, scientific and technical services, administration, IT, data-intensive activities and strategic management. Its work supports an approach to artificial intelligence that is useful, ethical, privacy-aware and aligned with ICMAB’s scientific mission.
Objectives of the AI Committee
The Committee combines institutional coordination, practical capacity-building and responsible experimentation through six objectives.
Identify opportunities
Define an AI strategy
Promote pilot projects
Training and awareness
Ethics, security and privacy
Knowledge sharing
Across these objectives, the programme aims to strengthen research support, institutional efficiency, digital skills, responsible innovation and shared standards for AI use.
A phased approach to adoption
The initial work plan moves from understanding present needs to defining a shared strategy and evaluating carefully selected pilots.
Phase 1 · Diagnosis
Phase 2 · Strategy and training
Phase 3 · Pilots and evaluation
