Laser Group

Laser-based materials processing, nanostructured functional materials, thin films, nanocomposites and laser-matter interaction studies for energy, environment, electronics and sensing applications.

Laser processing for nanostructured functional materials

The Laser Group develops materials processing technologies based on laser radiation to create and transform nanostructured functional materials with high spatial resolution, rapid processing and reproducible results.

The group investigates laser-matter interactions and applies techniques such as Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD), Matrix Assisted Pulsed Laser Evaporation (MAPLE), Laser Direct Write (LDW), Liquid phase laser synthesis (LILS) and Laser Surface Processing (LSP).

Its research connects synthesis, laser processing, compositional and structural characterization, and numerical simulations to advance materials for energy, environmental, electronics and sensing applications.
