A participatory committee for communication and outreach

The Communication & Outreach Committee was formally established in April 2018 as part of an objective of the Severo Ochoa project. It was created to strengthen communication and outreach throughout the institute.

The Committee brings together the Communication & Outreach officer and representatives from research areas, institutional functions and technical services. This structure helps initiatives reflect the perspectives and needs of the wider ICMAB community.

Communication and outreach objectives

The Committee connects institutional communication with the active participation of researchers, technicians and professional staff.

Communication

Support internal and external communication across the institute, including institutional events, press relations and social media. The Committee provides a shared space to discuss, develop and exchange communication initiatives through regular meetings and email coordination.

Outreach

Help society understand ICMAB research in materials science and encourage young people to consider scientific careers. Committee members collaborate with the Communication & Outreach Unit on activities and educational materials for students and teachers.

The Committee combines institutional coordination with representation from research departments, Administration, Scientific and Technical Services and young researchers.

The coordinator, Direction and Administration connect committee work with institutional priorities and operations.

Representatives from ICMAB departments bring perspectives from the institute’s research community.

Scientific and Technical Services contribute their expertise and communication needs.
